PLYWOOD / MDF / Particle Board - Important Component In Woodwork

This is the most important component in any woodwork as on this material only the whole interior would rest on.

Giving a base information on these products

1.  PARTICLE BOARD:

Particleboard, also known as particleboard and chipboard, is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood chips, sawmill shavings, or even sawdust, and a synthetic resin or another suitable binder, which is pressed and extruded.

Normally particle boards are used in commercial projects and the work of this can be done only in OEM ie the modular factories.

These boards are cheaper and come with one side or both side laminates.

2. MDF Board:

Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure.

These boards are mainly used in modular Kitchen and modular wardrobes. There are many types of MDF boards based on different pressure level pressing.

There are normal MDF, Interior grade One side laminate ( OSL ), Both Side Laminate( BSL), Exterior Grate OSL, BSL, Routing Grade ( when Screwing of boards are needed )

Many European companies and many big companies in India such as Home Town, Spacewood etc all use MDF boards for the interiors.

These boards are also mainly worked in an OEM ie modular factories and normally at a site, a carpenter would not work with it.

There are many companies for MDF ( Century, VIR, Green, Merbok ( a Malaysian company) )etc.

As the boards come with one side and both side laminate - it would also be cost-effective as the cost

towards laminates, pressing, the adhesive would be saved.

Challenge

MDF also are good for interiors but life vs plywood would be shorter and over a period of time, it would start chipping.
